Welcome to our new e-newsletter, where you’ll be the first to hear about the latest NCAP updates and developments. Our feature image this month is of a F6 Hellcat, the tactical reconnaissance version of the P-51 Mustang fighter, photographed by its wingman on a mission near Kassel, Germany. Both aircraft played crucial roles in the allies victory of World War II, the F6 playing a significant role in defeating the Japanese Navy and the P-51 gaining fame in escorting bombers on long-range missions over Europe.

100 years of Hong Kong Imagery Collections Care at NCAP

The National Collection of Aerial Photography holds an impressive bank of visual material from around the globe. This includes more than 1,600 aerial photographs of Hong Kong's landscape dating back a hundred years to 1924. This makes these images some of the earliest photography in our collections.  As custodians of 30 million photographs, preserving and caring for collections lies at the core of our mission. Whether it's ensuring the longevity of our collections or producing the highest possible quality digital scans from our images, discover the work of our preservation team in our new purpose designed facility.
