Member Tickets - Advanced Booking Recommended

Due to access restrictions in place as a precautionary measure while we undertake high level masonry inspections, there is currently no visitor access to some of our sites. Find out more about our conservation work.

We recommend booking in advance to guarantee entry at Blackness Castle, Doune Castle, Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Maeshowe Chambered Cairn, Skara Brae and Urquhart Castle.

You do not need your membership number to book. On our dedicated page about visiting, select the site you wish to visit. There will be an option to book member tickets. Select the tickets appropriate to your membership category and for the date/timeslot you require. You should include any children under 7 visiting with you on your booking. You will receive an email confirmation with your order number - take this with you (printed or on your phone) for your visit, along with valid membership card(s), or membership confirmation email.

Urquhart Castle

While the inspection programme is taking place, we are looking at alternative ways to share Scotland’s story; including interpretative performances, the use of innovative technology and new audio tours, videos and trails.

We are committed to opening up as much access as possible as the work progresses. We were delighted to re-open Dumbarton Castle, Aberdour Castle and Lochleven Castle to you again this year.

Many of Scotland’s most loved historic visitor attractions remain open to the public, including Edinburgh Castle, Skara Brae, Stirling Castle, Fort George, Arnol Blackhouse, Urquhart Castle, Blackness Castle, Craigmillar Castle, Glasgow Cathedral and many more across the length and breadth of Scotland. Plan your visit

Welcome to a whole host of special historic places just waiting to be discovered.  If you need inspiration view our blog, and see below for more resources...
